DAG National Conference: 11 – 13 October 2010: Cape Town [197KB]
The Development Action Group, in collaboration with UN-HABITAT, is hosting a three-day national conference entitled ‘Re-imagining the City: A New Urban Order’. International and local experts on urban land management, democratic urban governance, land value capture and community-centred and medium-density housing will come together to share experiences and lessons. Land Value Capture and Land Management Mini-courses: 14 – 16 October 2010, Cape Town [138KB]
The Development Action Group, in collaboration with the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies in the Netherlands, will host mini-courses on value capture and land management. International urban land management specialists from Latin America, Europe and the USA, as well as South African municipalities will present five stand-alone mini-courses over three days. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of value capture instruments and how they relate to revenue collection and land-use management at both a theoretical and practical level. Planning Africa 2010 Conference: 13 – 15 September: Durban [190KB]
The fourth Planning Africa Conference aims to strengthen and grow African planning networks, and to respond to global economic and ecological crises from an African planning perspective by articulating leading planning practice and solutions.
